If men were getting zapping sensations every time they got aroused, no one would tell them to get therapy, or to make the best of it, or it's JUST blah blah blah... NO. They would get to the bottom of that zapping faster than a speeding bullet. This is all to say that gaslighting tends to happen far more to women than men... and I SO appreciate you bringing awareness to all of it.
Someone needs to create an app specifically for the purpose of patients leaving reviews for medical providers. We need to not only "Ghost that doctor faster than a bad Tinder date (I really love that btw lol)," but we need to warn others as well. Businesses get reviews and they adjust accordingly if they want to stay in business. It should be the same for doctors.
There are actually a couple ways to leave reviews for doctors. Healthgrades is the one that has been around the longest. I have used it a few times. The other ones I found after I searched (after reading your comment) is ZocDoc, YelpDoctors but the reviews about those services aren’t good.
I wish more people used Healthgrades (my 'go-to' for some years although there isn't a lot going on there) or something, anything. We really could be helping each other so much more.
Agree to disagree on that. Unless I am a trauma patient, I will never attempt to get help from a captured profession again. If they were so great, we wouldn't be having this discussion.
So many medical problems that 'don't fit the conventional box', and migraines are right up there at the top of that list. I thought your education deficit, compassion drought and reality vs. textbook explainations covered that waterfront pretty well!...unfortunately for patients. The Tinder analogy reminds me that it is kind of like dating. Finding a good match may require a few swipes, and patience. It may not be fair, but it is often reality. Really good five points of advice on staying in the game to find support and get the help you need.
A great article on the topic of medical gaslighting. It can be infuriating to have "professionals" invalidate your experience time and time again, and it happens a lot to female-related conditions. Thank you for writing about this!

I agree with you.

Agree!
I would rather eat hot coals than ask advice from a "medical professional".
I understand that sentiment but sometimes, you have no choice.

‘Remember your Worth’
Words to live by.
I'm praying for you. 🙏
Thank you, I appreciate that so much!

Your comment means so much because it is coming from someone within the medical field. Knowing that I got it right means a lot!

Yes, unfortunately it seems that women get this mis-treatment a lot!
