Reclaiming oneself...one piece at a time. That's what it takes. Thank you also for recommending my substack. I hope what I write resonates well in our community.

Thank you! And also thank you for recommending mine, I’m not sure how I missed that you were recommending mine. But I went and read a couple of posts and definitely had to reciprocate!

Wait until they start calling you a vampire because you start spending so much time in the dark! 🧛‍♂️

Beautiful poem. We drift with each wave, sometimes through storms and sometimes in the still water…waiting and knowing. 💜✨💜

I discovered Hollie McNish when I was at my worst in chronic migraine. I’m so glad I did. I realised that sometimes, just playing with words, putting them into a rhythm, is its own kind of medicine.

Keep writing. 💛

I’m waiting for your (poetry) book! (With as much patience as it takes for you to do it at your pace)

Poetry book…wouldn’t that be something.

“I have learned that rising isn’t

The same as never going under.

Sometimes strength is simply breathing

While the waves still crash like thunder.

I don’t conquer every ocean.

I don’t calm each raging sea.

But every time I surface again,

I reclaim one piece of me.”

Breathing our way through. And reclaiming one small piece of ourselves every time we surface again.

That’s exactly it 🌊🩵

I am so glad I nailed it!
